Last Nights Democratic Meeting

Discussions were held and plans were made for the upcoming Democratic Caucus.  The caucus will be held sometime in August.  Sorry, but I can not share anymore info with you than that.  Why?  I am glad you asked!  Caucus announcements to the news media can not be made earlier than 14 days but no less than 10 days prior to that caucus......[or something like that]

Town and Village Board representatives from last nights meeting agreed that if I posted anything today about the Caucus night........that would be the same as giving the info to the news media.  Which would break the 14 day, 10 day rule.  So, now the members of both boards have a clear understanding that this blog and Abay.com are NEWS MEDIA and should be contacted [in addition to the 2 official news papers] about any special or emergency meetings  so that the public may be notified in a timely manner.....

I was asked if I had intentions of running for mayor......
My reply:  YUP!

Jim
The members of the town and village boards did not have the authority last night to approve you and johnny t as official media for the town or village. They may have approved it for the democratic caucus committee but no one else.
You see Jim by law the village and town select their official news media outlets at their annual organizational meeting and I don't believe either had you or dotster on there.
However, you could ask to go on the agenda to request you both be added to the official list. A small short process but necessary.
HUPLAHA isn't!

Ya missed my point.....
Instead of following the sunshine law to the bare bones letter.....The VB or TB could ALSO contact one of the blogs IN ADDITION TO the two official papers [WDT & TISUN]

You See Anon. I do not want the sole responsibility of handling those types of announcements. For instance if an emergency meeting is called for tonight then neither paper is going to do the job of informing the public. So that the public may attend! That is when the blogs should be used.

Sometimes HUPLAHA is needed!
