I really hope you are not making fun of some hard working dedicated students. That would be really low! Dan Hammond is most likely trying extremely hard to revive the love of music and marching as was evident in the 80s and early 90s in ACS. Keep up the hard work students and DAn

Hardly!
I was very impressed with Dan and the work he did with kids from The River Rat Rhythm Project. I am equally impressed with the ACS Marching Band!

You've got to be a real fool to think anyone was making fun of the marching band.

Ever have a prostate exam? Of course not, your not old enough. Anyways....there is no doubt in your mind what the doctor is doing. Same thing with Dr JC.....when and if I choose to poke fun at something....there will be no doubt in anyones mind....

I think the band sounded great and had it been a different type of parade rather than a Memorial Day I would have thoroughly enjoyed it. However, Memorial Day has always been a rather serious day of remembrance and thowing beads and dancing was never part of it when I played in the band, way back when.

Good grief people. He posted a video of the marching band because many of us who remember the band in its glory days - pre-1988 - and no longer live up there wanted to see the progress that Dan Hammond is making. I hope JC continues to keep us updated as the marching band was always such a great source of pride for the village/school district and many hope to see Dan bring that back for the community.

Not everything is a criticism people...I would think if he wanted to criticize he would have written something and not just posted a video.

I have to say that after 15 years of working at the school and my husbands 34 years of working there and listening to the old practices and driving bands to various locations for parades, that I am quite impressed with our current band. I am also extremely pleased to see how they were dressed compared to those old heavy uniforms that the kids wore and would sometimes pass out from wearing. It's about time good ole' ACS caught up with present time. Nice job kids! (and Mr. Hammond). I think between Mr. Hammond and Mrs. Taylor ACS has a wonderful music program. My only regret is that my own kids weren't fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of it.
