Can you believe that I Hammonite actually felt violated after visiting the Jeffcowebboard ?!?! I couldnt shower enought times to get the stink out ! I found it unconscionable that even the adminstrators and moderators would fuel the " mob mentaility" fire They would endorse profanity and slurs. Nothing is out of bounds. If anything I should be vindicated from any wrong doing on Abay.com if I an compared to that board ! I am Hannah Montanna , and that board is Ozzy Osbourne in the early years !!! Now we know Chris has his critics , as well as his share of semi distastful stuff on his site but if I learned anything , I would have to say Abay.com has it all over JeffcoWeb. I have told my story on JeffCoWeb about I how I felt unjustly singled out for being booted off Abay.com and I am satisfied. Funny thing is last time I checked Abay was part of Jefferson County. You would have thought that we were Iraqi immigrants by the way we were treated in there !
I was going to warn you about their forum. It is not for the faint of heart. I can picture you squirming in your chair. I bet that puts things in the proper perspective now doesn't it?
I promised myself I would post all the comments submitted to my blog. Unless of course they violated one of the 3 criteria for not posting a comment. Do I need to add #4 which says something like No comments will be posted that beat a dead horse?
Can you believe that JCWB? They call us "gay" but it seems all they talk about is queers and gays.I feel for you Hammonite, they sure were bashing you pretty hard. I was NOT going to sign up to be on that web board just for that fact. I dont think they realize what ABay.com stands for and has done to help our little community. I sure as hell dont see any other sites out there that have a forum like ours to let people voice their opinion on topics that impact thier area. Ever see Clayton.com, Adams.com, EvansMills.com or Dexter.com? Well I havent, and I dont think we ever will. And, for that fact,I am proud of our little website called ABay.com.
Yeah Smolder I sure learned that the grass isnt always greener on the other side. Thats for sure. JeffCoWeb is the Ghetto compared to Abay.com Chris has a great site, the layout graphics , everything . I noticed that he did a little demolition on his site and removed the forums completly . If he ever rebuilds " the forum house" My key wont work in that door anymore I am afraid. If you look at some of my other posts here , I cut a pasted a statement from the abay archieves ( 06) that I think summed up ABay.com Good Food, Good Friends , Good Times in Abay. If the forums never come back ,I am still a fan. I especially enjoy Chris's videos about the unique things regarding abay. One of my favorites is when he went out on the airboat on the ice and the middle of the river and touched boldt castle. Who ever thought that a snowmobile could go nearly 180 MPH ? ( Goose Bay Radar Runs ) Its too bad he wasnt able to get video during the Bike Rally I am sure that this event will rival Laconia or Stugis someday . I am sure Chris was up to his elbows in pancake batter that weekend. Lots of stuff has flowed over the damn at abay.com ( my antics aside) You can only learn from your experiences and move on. What life is all about.
