Chance Encounter With A Snowy Owl

Town Of Alexandria:

To get a great picture, the mantra is always be prepared and have a camera ready.  Today it paid off for Robin Garlock Moran.  She has been waiting patiently to get pictures of this elusive bird.  These stunning pictures were taken on the Bailey Settlement Road.....

The are 3 on 12E between Three Mile Bay & Chaumont every day. All 3 are usually with a 1/2 mile of each other.

Years ago I used to see one at night on Jericho Road in the Sulphur Springs area. It would be perched on a telephone pole and fly along in front of the car using the car headlights to spot rabbits etc. and then veer off and land back on the pole. Very cool bird to say the least!!

Years ago I used to see one at night on Jericho Road in the Sulphur Springs area. It would do the same thing... hang out on the pole and the swoop down and fly just in front of the car, using the headlights to look for prey and then veer off and back up onto another pole. Very cool bird to say the least!!
