Happy OH ONE OH

$6,000[+] for Police Station Renovations.
$26,000[+] for New Police Car.
$700 received for the selling of the old police car, the guy that bought it is still driving it to work everyday.
$12,000[+] payed to 3 former officers who filed a lawsuit against the Village.  The Mayor said it could have been worse {$60,000}  Wow we made money on that deal!
$1,200[+] spent on the new Taser....God only knows what kind of lawsuits the village will suffer....
$???? not sure what the new Tactical 870 shotgun cost us.  There was so much double talk going on at the board meeting, I got confused.
$15,000[+] spent on old technology for the  Livescan Fingerprint Mandate.  But hey what the hell.....the VB thinks that the surrounding communities will be knocking down our doors to use ours......and the VB wants to charge them a fee.  How friggin neighborly.  As I said earlier, the joke is on them, Clayton is getting a brand new scanner with all the bells and whistles [courtesy of a grant obtained by the Jeff, Co. Sheriffs Dept. $35,000].  But more importantly, that system will have an IT guy [Information Technology] to maintain the system. This is not as simple as plugging a phone line into your modem.  Clayton will not be charging a fee for the surrounding communities to use it. Could our police vehicles make that trip to Clayton?   Will there be overtime as a result of the 20 or 30 fingerprints that the PD makes yearly?

Did I miss anything?
OH!  Call your favorite VB member and ask them what is going on with the NEW Snow Plow Truck?  Ya know the one the village ordered in the fall but probably will not receive it until the end of this month!  Or ask them how much the refurbished garbage truck actually cost the tax payers.......I could go on and on......end rant!

What will the New Year Bring?

JC, your so right again! In your recording of the vb meeting discussion about the truck it sounds as though the dpw sup said there was a delay because of a truck axle availability problem. BUT we all know that's more VB BULL don't we?
Or is it?

From what I understand even the local troopers and park police will be using the system in Clayton. Mayor Robb, the bay police department, and the other people on the board are whacked in the head.

Does the VB have a grant writer? if not then the money spent on the above items would be better spent in a grant writer to get more funding for our village. I know that there are many grants to be given, most are of non-goverment agency's that the money is awarded very quickly after the grant date. The VB then could help out the police dept, fire dept, vb offices and all the other village departments. I also know that clayton has a staff memeber that is outstanding on grant writing. I did not see a single alex bay resident at the most recent grant writing FREE seminar at JCC. There is also money out there to get salary paid for grant writers. HUM what an idea...

No Reason; just use guns and shot em all. How many shootings and stabbings in NNY in the last 60 days? Last count 7 of which 4 or 5 were murders. Things are changing in NNY as we all now are realizing.
Our officers need all the equipment possible to protect themselves and us. And also how many law enforcement officers have been attacked, shot, stabbed in US lately??
LOTS-TO MANY

The village applies for some grants from within as did the police chief in their bullet proof vest grant and their plate reader computer system grant. They also hire firms to do the apps for grants such as the riverwalk, zoning, walking trail etc...

This village needs an enama.

Looks like all the expenditures were in the budget, so we all need to address the budget at budget time. When exactly is budget time, budget hearing etc. They must be required to have a public hearing aren't they?
PS; A Clayton official said their grant for the fingerprint mandate was denied originally. Clayton and Bay pd were talking with other pd's about sharing expense but they all put everything on hold when state announced they were extending the deadline on the mandate. They said no one has bought anything yet. And "They Said" the truth.

Anonymous 1/4 10:33am...You missed all the facts from Sheriff Burns that I posted earlier. I simply do not have the time to regurgitate those facts into little tidbits of info so that you might be able to comprehend.

When the economy turns to crap.....villages can slash their budgets and cut or defer spending till it improves.

Sounds like the village idiot is still feeling a little slighted after being voted down in the primaries last year. In my opinion, the VB avoided a douching by keeping your ass out of office.

It was the caucus [I am a Democrat], not the primary {Republican}. Just think how lucky the Town was to keep my sorry ass out of that level of govt. too! I would prefer to be referred to as the Village Drunk, which was a nickname bestowed on me by the first lady mayor. However, I am re-gifting the title you just gave me and sending it back to you. It fits you better!
