Upper James St. Dock Status

The following audio is from tonight's VB meeting.  I divided the meeting into 3 separate audios.  I figured this is the part of the meeting that everyone is interested in.  The dock status fell under Old Business.  The first 2 minutes of the audio is the Riverwalk status, the dock status starts at 2min:31secs.  Lets all play a little game......and it goes like this:  You hit the play button and listen to the audio!  Get all the facts, and then nobody can say that I am stirring up shit!  There will be no opinions from moi, well....... maybe not until later!

Thanks J.C. for bringing the power situation up to the VB. In the event that concrete is used for the decking it would be a big problem to retrofit the dock later. Also the Riverwalk encompassing the docks should help for future improvements. The VB's concern about not competing with local marinas shore power has one easy solution, charge a little more for the convenience of using the village docks. Maybe use some of the Riverwalk funds in adding the dock fee payment system that you brought up last summer. Let's have an fair system that allows boaters to pay as they stay and make some money for the village at the same time.

I don't understand why the docks were so neglected and now not usable.

With all of the local Village Businesses 100% dependent on tourism in the summer - many that visit by boat - WHERE WAS THE DISCUSSION & ACTION PLAN FOR NEW AND AVAILABLE FEDERAL - STATE STIMULUS PACKAGE FUNDING??????????
Wood bevels, electric, concrete - HEY, GET THE MONEY - SPRING TOURISM IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!

Jim,
I'm a summer resident who has been following this and use the dock quite often. As a downsized engineer I seem to have quite a bit of time on my hands right now! I can offer my hands/labor to help get this done. We need to get this started

Looks like the village will have to start charging for day dockage again. We all remember what happened the last time they did that. LOOKOUT!
