They are not going to close Keewaydin State Park. Calm down. This is all geared to get people like you good folks running around acting nutso. This will be used to fight any and all cuts, which will lead to tax increases. For another budget cycle we will make no changes in how government does business. And your kids will be screwed again.

If everyone sat back and did nothing, as you suggest, then we would "have" nothing to show for the high tax rates

Why aren't the user fees covering the cost of the parks?
This may sound silly but can't they just raise the fees like they have with license plates, snowmobile, ATV and Car registrations, hunting and fishing permits and countless other fees?
How about the parks regional directors turning in their state cars that they use for commuting to their jobs?
Also, reduce the size of the Park Police Force to something smaller than some Latin American Banana Republic Army?

Threaten to close is the smoke screen to raise the fees. Everyone will think they got a bargain! But then again, I do not take the closing of Keewaydin as just an idle threat....

Democrat control threating to close is a political hoax(strategy). It allows the local democrat politicians the ability to save us from all kinds of proposed closures. Remember this is a major election year and local democrat politicians need to be heros to get re-elected.

I agree with you absolutely, but don't jinx the cause
